Indiana University basketball has one of the richest traditions in all of college basketball. The Hoosiers from Bloomington, Indiana have competed in the sport since 1901 and have won a total of five national championships. The Hoosiers are known for the five championship banners that they have hung for the 1940, 1953, 1976, 1981, and 1987 championship seasons.
The following compilation of Indiana University basketball history marks one of the greatest projects to capture and document the extensive history of Indiana University basketball and the stories that each of these coaches, players, and events contributed to the Indiana basketball legacy.
