Cooper Bybee High School Career
Bybee played high school basketball at Edgewood High School in Ellettsville, Ind. The former Mustang averaged 14.8 points per game his sophomore year and then 23.8 points his senior season. His scoring output moved him past 1,000 points making him the fifth player in school history to reach that mark. Bybee and the Mustangs fell to the Northview Knights in a close 73-71 battle in the state tournament ending his high school career.
Olney Central Junior College Career
After his career at Edgewood, Bybee played junior college basketball for Olney Central College for two seasons. As a freshman, he averaged 6.0 points per game and then increased that to 7.1 during his sophomore season. Bybee is capable of shooting from deep as he shot 41.9% from the three-point line. During his tenure in junior college, Bybee earned Academic All-American Honors and the Great Rivers Athletic Conference Sportsmanship Award.
Returning Home
It was announced during the 2019 off-season that Bybee joined the Hoosier squad as a non-scholarship player. The former junior college player is just the second player from the Ellettsville area to play for Indiana.
