Devin Davis is a basketball player from Indianapolis, Ind. who played for Indiana University. Davis was a forward for the Hoosiers for two seasons from 2013-2015 before transferring to Odessa College and then the University of Houston. The Indianapolis native played high school basketball at Warren Central High School where he averaged double-digit scoring in his junior and senior seasons. Davis was ranked the state’s sixth best recruit and chose Indiana over offers from Illinois and Purdue.

Devin Davis High School Career
Davis played high school basketball for Warren Central High School in Indianapolis, Ind. He played under former Hoosier Greg Graham who played at Indiana from 1989-1993. As a junior, Davis averaged 18.7 points and 8.9 rebounds per game leading Warren Central to a share of the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference title. He played for the Indiana junior all-stars who swept the Kentucky junior all-stars in the season series.
The next year, Davis averaged 17 points per game during his senior season. The Warriors went 11-9 overall and fell to Lawrence Central 44-43 in the IHSAA State Tournament. Davis’ efforts earned him a spot on the all-conference team and an honorable mention for AP All-State. The Indiana all-stars swept the Kentucky all-stars once again in Davis’ senior season. He recorded 19 points and 11 rebounds in the final contest earning him with MVP honors.
Davis played on the AAU circuit for Eric Gordon All-Stars and ranked as a 3-star recruit from 247Sports. He committed to play for head coach Tom Crean at Indiana University on November 21, 2010.

Devin Davis Indiana University Career
Davis came to Bloomington for his freshman season and joined an Indiana team coming off a Big Ten championship and Sweet 16 appearance. The freshman played in 29 games and averaged 8.8 minutes per game. He made the starting lineup for the regular season finale against Michigan scoring nine points in the 84-80 loss to the Wolverines. Davis shot 52.9 percent from the field and recorded 13 blocks in his first season.
The Hoosiers went 17-15 in Davis’ freshman season and fell to Illinois 64-54 in the first round of the 2014 Big Ten Tournament.
Davis sat out the entire 2014-2015 season due to injury after he was involved in a car accident on campus. Reports indicated that Davis was hit by a car driven by teammate Emmitt Holt near Memorial Stadium on November 1, 2014.
The next year, Davis was suspended after being cited for possession of marijuana during an incident with teammate Hanner Mosquera-Perea. In an announcement from Indiana University, both players were dismissed from the program for “not living up to their responsibilities to the program.”
Career after IU
Davis transferred from Indiana to Odessa College and spent a season playing for the Wranglers. He played in 32 games averaging 16.8 points and 8.2 rebounds per game while shooting 50.5% from the field. The sophomore led the Wranglers to a NJCAA Tournament appearance and was named the WJCAC MVP.
