Indiana Basketball: The Lineup Report | Maryland Terrapins

In the Maryland edition of the the line up report, we look at the combination of Indiana Hoosiers on the floor at different moments in College Park, where Indiana lost by a final margin of 59-75. The game was not as close as the score looked, since Indiana was able to beat up on Maryland’s second and third string during the final three minutes of the game. Line ups during that “garbage time” are a bit inflated.

In total, Coach Miller used 23 unique line ups, which is an increase of 7 lineups during their previous match up against Arkansas.

Notables

• As mentioned, Indiana’s best lineup played when the game was far out of hand, so those numbers have to be taken with a grain of salt. They entered the game when IU trailed 73-45 with 2:48 to go. Those five had never played together in a game prior to Maryland.
• After IU cut the deficit to just five points in the second half, removing Green and Brunk for Phinisee and Davis hurt Indiana. By the time Green checked back in, Maryland led by 15.
• On a positive note, the group of Phinisee, Franklin, Anderson, TJD, and Davis expanded IU’s early first half lead from one point to five in 1:38. It was the first time those five played together in a game this season. See if this unit gets more playing time after the starters in the first half in Big Ten play.
