Indiana Basketball: The Lineup Report | Northwestern Wildcats

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — The Hoosiers defeat a depleted Northwestern Wildcats with a final score of 66-62 and return back to the win column, preventing a three-game skid. In this edition of the lineup report, we breakdown the staff’s usage of the players including what went well and what was most used.

Notes from the Lineup Report

• Indiana’s starting five of Green, Durham, Smith, Jackson-Davis, and Brunk played significantly more than any other group of five.
• The starters also had the worst plus-minus of any unit (-6). Their toughest stretch came late in the first half, when they were outscored 6-0 in 1:11 to shrink IU’s lead from 7 to 1 point.
• The lineup that resuscitated Indiana’s season was Franklin, Durham, Smith, Jackson-Davis, and Brunk. That group went on a 10-0 run in a 4:37 shift to erase the Wildcats’ 10-point lead. Remember, that was the lineup that started the Hoosiers’ first nine games this season, so they have developed plenty of chemistry. It paid off on Wednesday night.
• Even though he went scoreless in 18 minutes, Rob Phinisee was still Indiana’s most efficient player on a per-minute basis. IU’s defense stepped it up when he was in the game, and he was a major part of that.
• After using 23 unique lineups against Maryland, Archie went down to just 20 against Northwestern.
