Indiana Basketball: The Lineup Report | Ohio State Buckeyes

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. — During Indiana’s victory over No. 11 Ohio State, Archie Miller deployed a total of 19 unique lineups. The head coach talked about potentially reducing the rotation from a 11-man rotation to something shorter; however, that did not happen. Indiana still ended up rotating 10 players in the first half, and likely would have used all 11 if Damezi Anderson (illness) was available. Saturday’s game also featured Rob Phinisee in the starting lineup for the first time during the 2019-2020 season.

Lineup Notables:

• Indiana’s new starting five delivered on Saturday, playing the most minutes out of any five-man unit and recording the highest plus-minus.
• Even with the lineup change, one of IU’s most effective guard combinations was Phinisee and Green. The two played over 18 minutes together, partly due to Al Durham’s foul trouble. In the second half alone, IU went +11 with the Phinisee/Green backcourt.
• Archie Miller used six lineup combinations yesterday that hadn’t been tried all season. All six new combos included redshirt freshman Jerome Hunter, as Miller tries to give the forward some more playing time as the season progresses.
• Without Damezi Anderson, Archie Miller only used one less lineup combination at 19. Against Northwestern, where Indiana had all 11 players available, 20 unique combinations were used.
