Stewart, born in Akron, played for King James Elite in his AAU career and won a national championship with the Akron-based team. He played his first season at Pickerington Central High School in Ohio before relocating to Union City, Tenn. due to his father being named head coach at UT Martin.
He played under head coach Shane Sisco at Union City High School and helped the Golden Tornados accomplish an outstanding 81-25 record in his three years with the program. He averaged 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists, and 2.0 steals per game.
He led Union City to a state championship appearance and a district title as a sophomore in 2014-2015.
The 6-foot-5 guard from Union City, Tennessee originally played for the University of Pittsburgh, where he originally committed to after high school. He averaged 9.1 points per game and he was a consistent force for the Panthers. He shot 80% (40 of 50) from the free throw line and 38.6% (71 of 184) from behind the arc during his time in the ACC.
Stewart transferred to UT Martin, after the release of Pittsburgh head coach Kevin Stalling.
With an increased role, Stewart scored 19.2 points per game play for his father Anthony Stewart and tallied 3.8 assists per game as well. He shot 76.6% (95 of 124) at the charity stripe and maintained his three point percentage at 34.8% (71 of 204).
Unfortunately, Parker Stewart’s father passed away unexpectedly in 2020, which led to Stewart’s decision to transfer again. He joined the Hoosiers in December 2020, stating his fit with the program and his relationship with assistant coach Kenya Hunter, who his father “thought very highly of” before his passing.
