The Hoosiers will be having their second Indiana Mr. Football in the last three years. The IndyStar announced Charlie Spegal out of New Palestine as this year’s Indiana Mr. Football winner.

Spegal, a 5-foot-10, 220 pound running back, committed to the Hoosiers earlier this month after a visit from Indiana running backs coach Mike Hart. Spegal will be joining 2017 Indiana Mr. Football winner Reese Taylor on the Hoosiers as a preferred walk-on.

Throughout his high school career, Spegal has accumulated one of the most impressive high school career stat-lines that included over 10,000 rushing yards and 1,000 career points (173 touchdowns). He spent two seasons at Delta High before moving to New Palestine.

Just this past 2019 season, Spegal led his New Palestine team to a Class 5A state championship over Valparaiso.
