Another game has been identified for the Indiana Basketball 2019-2020 schedule. The Hoosiers will be hosting the University of North Alabama from Florence, Ala on November 12, 2019 according to the university website with today’s schedule release. Out of the Atlantic Sun Conference, the Lions are one of the newest additions to Division 1. In fact, since the founding of the school, the Lions have participated in Division II until their acceptance to join the Atlantic Sun Conference in all sports except football. They officially participated in Division for the first time in the 2018-2019 season.
On their website, the Lions list a bold statement regarding their ownership of the state:
The Lions boast the richest collegiate men’s basketball tradition in the state of Alabama with 14 NCAA Tournament appearances, eight regional championships, five Final Fours and two national championships.
North Alabama Athletics
North Alabama finished with a final record 10-22 last season and ended up as the 284th team in Kenpom’s season-ending rankings, a result of ending the seasons as the 322nd team in adjusted offense and 184th in adjusted defense. They are led by second-year head coach Tony Pujol, who was formerly an assistant coach at the University of Wyoming.
Two names to watch for the Lions include a pair of sophomores: Jabari Blackmon and Christian Agnew. Both players were double-digit scorers as freshmen. In fact, Jabari Blackmon led the entire team in points per game (14.6) and assists per game (2.7).
Fans are eagerly awaiting the final release of the 2019-2020 Indiana Basketball schedule. For reference, the schedule for the season prior was released on August 21, 2019.
