Hoosier Hysteria is the time of year that Indiana Hoosier basketball fans look forward to every single season.

This year was much different.

Hoosier Hysteria aired via a live stream on Facebook Live for fans to tune in and watch on Wednesday. Regular activities such as a dunk contest, skills competition and scrimmage did not take place.

The pre-season hype video started out with a message from Indiana Men’s Basketball head coach Archie Miller. Miller introduced Hoosier nation to this year’s basketball team and reassured that while it is an exciting time, it is also a different time in comparison to previous years due to COVID-19.

Hoosier Hysteria opened with highlights from the previous seasons. Those clips included Rob Phinisee hitting a 3-pointer, Armaan Franklin’s clutch 3-point corner jump shot against Notre Dame in the Crossroads Classic, and an abundance of Trayce Jackson-Davis. Next on the agenda was a roster presentation beginning with freshmen and, of course, ending with the senior class.

Following the team introductions, a questionnaire segment played with players answering questions that seemed simple and thought-provoking to say the least. The first question received some weird looks.

“If you had a twin sister, which teammate would she date?”

Many players answered that they would not allow any of their teammates the opportunity. Other answers included Al Durham, Cooper Bybee and Rob Phinisee.

The next segment’s name was, “Freshman Training in The Lab with Cliff Marshal.”

In this portion of the video the camera took Hoosier nation through a workout with strength coach Cliff Marshal as he worked out the freshman class.

Anthony Leal, Jordan Geronimo, Khristian Lander, and Trey Galloway were all involved in the workout.

Back to the questions.

The second question resulted with a more array of answers from the Hoosiers. It being, “If you had your own talk show, who would be your first guest?”

Answers included NBA superstar LeBron James from a few of the Hoosiers. As well as his teammate Alex Caruso. Rob Phinisee answered with Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, and Cooper Bybee answered with John Mayer.

After the second question were highlights that mixed in drills and scrimmages from all players. Freshman Jordan Geronimo showed off his athleticism while fellow freshman Khristian Lander proved why he is one of the top freshmen in the country. Post work clips from the front court made the cut as well.

Hoosier Hysteria’s final question was, “What teammate makes you cringe when they sing?”

The overwhelming answer was Jackson-Davis who responded via Twitter with one simple word. “Wow.”
