The Hoosiers clawed back from a tough loss and top Stanford to add another impressive neutral court victory to their tournament resume. Archie Miller, without the services of Al Durham and Joey Brunk, used the lowest number of unique lineups since our team has started tracking lineup data (which began last season). See below for the best lineups deployed on the floor during Indiana’s third place battle in Asheville, N.C.

  1. Due to Al Durham’s unavailability, IU used a new starting lineup for the first time this season of Phinisee, Franklin, Galloway, Thompson, and Jackson-Davis. That group performed very well, outscoring Stanford 33-19 in 13:15 of action.
  2. Armaan Franklin had his best game as a Hoosier, but most impressively, he was the first Hoosier to play 40 minutes in a regulation game since Juwan Morgan on 11/23/18 against UC Davis. That’s the only other such occasion in the last ten seasons.
  3. For whatever reason, Indiana struggled when Jerome Hunter was on the floor. In his 14:28, Stanford outscored IU 29-19. In the other 25:32 on Wednesday, IU outscored Stanford 60-31.
