IU baseball remains hot behind recent offensive outbursts. The Hoosiers currently sit at 17-10 and are 5-1 in conference play. The bats have been the story this season, as the team continues to destroy opposing pitchers.

The Hoosiers have scored 12 or more runs in 6 of the last 10 games. During this stretch, they have outscored their opponents 113 to 44. The last two games alone accounted for 39 of these runs, as Indiana exploded against Maryland.

After losing the first game of the series to the Terrapins 2-0, Indiana rebounded dramatically with 20-5 and 19-4 victories to ultimately take the series. Matt Lloyd led the way for the Hoosiers, posting back-to-back games with three extra-base hits and back-to-back multi-home run games. In the final game of the series, Lloyd tallied an impressive 7 RBIs. After his standout weekend, Lloyd improved his numbers on the year to a .316 average, 9 home runs, and a team-high 27 RBIs.

Junior pitcher Andrew Saalfrank also shined, striking out 11 hitters in six innings. This was his second double-digit strikeout game of the season. Saalfrank only allowed 5 hits and 2 earned runs, improving his record to 2-1.

Next up, the Hoosiers will face Wright State later today at 4:05et in Bloomington and then welcome Penn State to town for a three-game weekend series.
