According to Jon Rothstein, the Hoosiers will be hosting Troy University out of Troy, Ala. as part of their 2019-2020 non-conference slate. Indiana basketball currently has seven non-conference games that have been reported or announced: Notre Dame, Florida State, UConn, Portland State, Princeton, Arkansas, and now Troy. The Troy Trojans closed out last season with a 12-18 overall record, going 5-13 in the Sun Belt and finishing 11th in their conference. Per Kenpom’s numbers, the Trojans had a Division 1 ranking of 249, as a result of being ranked 202nd in adjusted offense and 290th in adjusted defense.

Troy has rebuilding and rediscovering to do in this upcoming season. The majority of their offense last season has graduated including seniors Jordon Varnado, Alex Hicks, and BJ Miller. That trio accounted for over 47 points per game of production in conference play.

The match up in Bloomington will be the first between the two programs. Troy has participated in two NCAA tournaments, but have lost in the First Round on both occasions. In 2003 they lost a South Region game to Xavier. Most recently in 2017, they lost to an East Region contest to Duke.
