Just when one construction project for Indiana Basketball gets completed, another one starts. A $3 million valued project for a “Cook Hall-Men Locker Room Renovation” has opened up for bidding. The practice facility that opened in 2010 will get a facelift in the men’s side of the locker rooms, which assumedly will have the same look and feel as the recently completed locker rooms in Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall. The Hoosiers add another renovation to their list of athletics facilities upgrade among a national arms race for collegiate facilities.
The listing on Dodge Projects, a platform for construction projects to bid out work to contractors, has been posted with a final bid date of July 10, 2019. The winning bid will factor into the final price that the university has to pay for the renovation project.
Of course, the project comes after two major renovations in Assembly Hall. First the $40 million renovation of Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall that added a new lobby, new seating configurations, and new seating experiences. More recently, the program completed a presumably similiar renovation to the men’s locker room in Assembly Hall. That projected included the Oladipo Zeller Legacy Lounge, a player’s lounge area donated by two of the highest paid current Hoosiers in professional sports.
