Toronto’s 114-110 victory over the Golden State Warriors at Oracle Arena has made OG Anunoby the first Hoosier NBA Champion since Isiah Thomas. The Raptors win their first ever NBA championship in franchise-history in a 4-2 series victory. SF Kahwi Leonard was named the NBA Finals MVP and becomes the first NBA player to win the NBA Finals MVP in both conferences.

Isiah Thomas still remains as the last Hoosier to log minutes in an NBA Finals series, leading to a championship. Isiah Thomas won back to back NBA championships in 1989 and 1990 with the Detroit Pistons, and he was named as the NBA Finals MVP in 1990.

Due to an emergency appendectomy, OG Anunoby did not get a chance to log minutes in any games for the 2019 playoffs. In Game 2 of the NBA Finals, OG Anunoby was upgraded to questionable, but ultimately his time away from the floor meant that other Raptors had moved up in the depth charts. OG Anunoby was a critical component for the regular season that enabled the Toronto Raptors to take the two-seed in the Eastern Conference.
